Specialising in the fitness side to golf, Ray’s background includes having worked with athletes that have competed in the Olympics, commonwealth games and world championships across several sports, including golf, hockey, athletics and boxing.  

 

Ray brings these experiences of working with top amateur and touring professional golfers to help you swing the club quicker, stay fit and healthy, keeping you on the golf course!

ABOUT RAY

Sport has always been a big part of my life and I started playing sports at a young age, which started with picking up a hockey stick in middle school to progressing on to play at a high level. Whilst at university I developed an interest for improving my physical performance from training and ultimately become the best athlete I could. This lead me down the path to become a Strength and Conditioning coach and help others improve to play their sport better too.  

 

The interest in golf came a bit later, I developed my passion for the game after playing during the summer months whilst there was no national league hockey. I still enjoy getting out at the weekends and playing with friends and clients.  

 

These two passions for training and golf made me realise that golf fitness was an area that I wanted to focus on. This was the beginnings of The Golf PT Ltd Our mission is to help as many golfers improve their body, swing the club quicker, ultimately leading to you playing better golf!

PHILOSOPHY

THE GOLF PT - RAY JAKEMAN

Sessions with Ray focus on improving the one thing you use on every shot, your body. We begin with a detailed assessment of what you can and can’t currently do, as well as goal setting session to understand what you want to achieve in your golf game. This then allows us to map out the route to hitting the ball further and better golf! 

 

Each session the focus is on you, creating a detailed improvement plan working alongside your coach to create a team, a positive environment and the set out a road map to success! The sessions are fun and based around the equipment we have access to at the academy as well as your own facility. A training program is included in all long-term development plans.  

 

I use the model of ‘Assess, Plan, Deliver, Review’ to take away any guess work, ensuring you can make real, meaningful and long-term progress as quickly as possible.
