If you are using a launch monitor or radar
- No technology scores this game. The score is putts to hole out.
Retesting
- Warm up first — ten to fifteen balls with the club you will use. Same set-up, same ball, same conditions every retest. One run is a snapshot; two or three averaged is a standard.
Benchmark
- The benchmark is the three-putt rate at your handicap (Shot Scope data): 3% at scratch, 6% at 5, 7% at 10, 11% at 15 and 13% at 20 and 25.
- Your number is the share of your 20 putts that took three or more.
- On the course the average first putt is 16 to 18 feet. These putts are longer, so matching the benchmark here is a stretch target.
Equipment
- Putter · a ball · four marks at 15, 30, 45 and 60 feet. No specialist technology is required.
